Information You Submit
Terms Sent to Search Providers
When a visitor enters a name, place, or another term in a search tool, that query is transmitted to the third-party company that operates the tool. Hockley County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy governs the information after submission.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to read it, respond, and maintain the related correspondence. We do not share a message beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law, a court order, or another valid legal demand.
Technical Visit Information
Ordinary web operations may create automatic technical records when a page loads. These records help deliver pages and diagnose performance. They may include:
- the internet protocol address used for the request;
- the browser name and version;
- the device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and the time spent on them;
- the referring website, when one is supplied; and
- the date and time associated with the visit.
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support related functions. A browser can be configured to reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some features, preferences, analytics, or advertising functions to behave differently.
Reasons We Use Data
- operate the site and deliver its pages efficiently;
- send a search request to the appropriate partner service;
- measure which Hockley County release-resource pages visitors find useful;
- detect errors, abuse, and other technical problems; and
- display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links may lead to the Hockley County Sheriff's Office, Hockley County Jail roster, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas IVSS, federal custody locators, court resources, release-record sources, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. Government records accessed through Texas offices may also be subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and its exceptions. This Privacy Notice does not govern those government systems.
Advertising partners may use technology on their own systems to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That cross-site activity is handled by those partners rather than by Hockley County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may, however, be disclosed to service providers or authorities that perform the following roles:
- search partners that process terms submitted through their tools;
- analytics providers that measure traffic and page use;
- advertising networks that deliver or measure ads; and
- law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information within our control. No website, internet connection, storage service, or transmission method can be promised to be fully secure. We therefore cannot guarantee that a breach, unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Adults Only
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
- ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of information that is inaccurate;
- ask that eligible personal information be erased; and
- object to or opt out of certain processing when that choice applies.
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices and supporting services may change. A revised notice will be posted on this page with a new effective date when an update is made. Continued use after publication is subject to the revised notice.
